- Close any tabs you are not using and Close any other programs running on your computer to free up system resources.
- Sometimes simply closing and reopening Chrome can solve memory issues.
- Make sure you are using the latest version of Chrome. Go to Settings > About Chrome to check for updates
- Clearing your cache and cookies can free up memory. Go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data, then select "Cached images and files" and "Cookies and other site data".
- Some extensions can consume a lot of memory. Try disabling extensions you don't need by going to chrome://extensions/.
- Chrome has a built-in task manager that shows how much memory each tab and extension is using. Open it by clicking the three dots in the upper right, then More tools > Task Manager. End processes that are using too much memory.
- If you're on Windows, increasing the size of your pagefile can help. Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced system settings > Settings (under Performance) > Advanced > Virtual memory > Change. Increase the size of the paging file.
- Resetting Chrome to its default settings can help. Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset settings > Restore settings to their original defaults.
